Giọng văn châm biếm, đầy nước mắt và bi ai, sách nói về những người đã vì trường lớp mà mù chữ, phải làm mọi thứ để mưu sinh. Cuộc đời của họ sẽ không như vậy, nếu như chúng ta có một hệ thống giáo dục tốt hơn, nhân văn hơn, và hướng đến từng cá thể hơn. Tôi chưa thấy được hy vọng hay tia sáng nào trong cuộc đời của những con người trong góc nhỏ này, nơi bi kịch chất chồng và số phận trôi nổi.

I think that is not his intention. He only wants to give us a multi-perspective point of view. Diverse point of views When studying science, considering in many perspectives is important. Any point of view seams to be reasonable in this perspective possibly seeming reasonable in the opposite perspective also.

The Thorn Birds – a story about unavoidable destiny

Tragedy This book is a tragedy. Love can totally destroy people but they cannot do anything to avoid or change. What is destroying they is very powerful: destiny, or God. The tragedy is not only happen with one couple, it happened to 3 generations: grandmother, mother, and daughter. Year after year, decade after decade, every people experienced hurt, but tragedies did not have an end. People loved much, was hurt much; people loved less, hurt less; people who tried to fight against destiny, hurt more.

Experiments when reading The Art of Computer Programming

Think beyond what is written. The text is concise. Perhaps the author did it this way to encourage reader thinking. Skim when needed, and get back when necessary. It is probably preferable, for motivation, to skim over this section lightly at first, and (after seeing numerous applications of the techniques in future chapters) return to it later for more intensive study. If too much time is spent studying this material when first reading the book, a person might never get on to the computer programming topics!

The Art of Computer Programming – a new beginning

Based on some online courses, and references on the Internet, I believe that this set of books is a good point to start studying computer science. (2018 update: I was wrong) However, I will face a lot of difficulties: this study will not help me much in short time; I will not have opportunities to use these knowledges in applicable works until I master; the investment of time is huge but I will not get explicit return in years, I still have to work, while contributing in deep learning.

When I was reading, I tried to think like the characters, tried to understand their arguments and evidences. I put myself into their situation, of both sides. And by trying to thinking like that, I intended to practice my brain logical thinking and study from the characters. Some actions that I think characters used to drive them to success: Get other people’s help. Gain as much information, knowledge as possible.
